Fr. John F. Hinnebusch, O.P. of the Dominican House of Studies, Washington, D.C. speaks about the Dominican friar Bl. John of Vercelli (d. 1283), an Italian from Lombardy. He was elected Master of the Dominican Order in 1264 and in spite of a crippled leg he tirelessly visited the Order of Preachers and guided it by some 22 pastoral letters.
The book Fr. Hinnebusch recommends in the audio excerpt below is by Fr. Paul Christopher Perrotta, OP, of the Dominican Province of St. Joseph, and is entitled: Blessed John of Vercelli, New York: National Headquarters, Holy Name Society, 1956.
