A brief excerpt from an interview with Fr. Gilbert Hartke, O.P. (1907-1986) filmed in 1982 at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C. by Dr. Gavin Colvert, nephew of the interviewer, Fr. Antoninus Wall, O.P., a friar of the Province of the Most Holy Name of Jesus, the Western Dominican Province. Father Hartke, a Dominican priest of the Province of Saint Joseph, founded The Catholic University of America Speech and Drama Department, one of the first university drama programs in the United States. In this excerpt he speaks about his Dominican vocation and his love of the priesthood.
