Hinnebusch discusses the Rule of Saint Augustine, canons regular, the Norbetines, the system of provinces, provincial visitations, itinerancy, the rise of commercial economies and urbanization in the 12th cent., medieval education, cathedral schools, monastic schools, universities, Augustinian theology, the introduction of Aristotle in the medieval West, etc.
