Lectures in Dominican History Part 8

In Lecture 8 Fr. Hinnebusch describes the fundamental characteristics of the life and ministry of the friar preacher, indicating the ways in which the life of a Dominican priest differs from that of clerics regular, canons, monks, hermit friars, etc. Included are discussions of the apostolic life, religious poverty, monastic stability, monastic elements of Dominican life, the possession of churches, the ownership of property with revenues, fixed incomes, etc. Fr. Hinnebusch then describes the life of the Dominican friars as contrasted with the lives of the Franciscan or Augustinian friars.
