The Croatian Dominican Province

The Croatian Dominican Province (Hrvatska dominikanska provincija) will host the next General Chapter of the Dominican Order in Dubrovnik in 2013. The history of the Dominicans in Dalmatia can be traced back to the beginnings of the Dominican Order, and their presence in Dubrovnik dates to 1225. The modern province is called the Dominican Province of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The map below gives as sense of the deep roots of the Dominicans in the region.
