He earned a BA in philosophy and theology from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas, and a PhL from the School of Philosophy at the Catholic University of America. Before entering the order he taught at a high school in Manchester, New Hampshire. “I joined the Dominicans because I wanted to live intimately with God, to live among brothers who want the same, and to speak about God to others. I was first drawn to the order by the example and teaching of St. Thomas Aquinas.”
