Brother Jude Grieshaber grew up in Orland Park, IL, where he and his family attended St. Francis of Assisi Parish. After studying chemical engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in January 2011 his job search brought him to Cincinnati, OH, where he first encountered the Dominicans at St. Gertrude Church; it was there he began an honest assessment of life’s most important questions about God and eternity. For about seven years, while working in the polymer, aviation, and printing industries, Br. Jude’s faith deepened under the guidance of the Friars. In July 2018, he entered the novitiate of the Dominican Province of St. Joseph. “Jesus said to Martha, ‘I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.’ The Dominicans at St. Gertrude were the instruments Our Lord used to bring my soul back to life; I am deeply grateful for everything the Friars have given me. My hope and prayer are to help others come to this realization that Christ can dwell within them, and they can have life.”
