George Mason University

Following an international childhood Brother Augustine spent his later upbringing in Fairfax, Virginia. He first encountered the Dominicans at John Paul the Great Catholic High School, run by the Sisters of St. Cecilia. He went on to George Mason University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Philosophy. In college he encountered the Friars as head of George Mason’s chapter of the Thomistic Institute. Upon graduation he entered the Order of Preachers. “Inspired by the example of St. Dominic I desired to consecrate my life such that I could live the Truth, consume the Truth, adore the Truth, to preach the Truth for the salvation of souls.”
