What is a Confraternity?

A confraternity is a supernatural fellowship, organized and officially recognized by the Catholic Church, to which men and women commit themselves in order to pursue some good together. The Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary and the Angelic Warfare Confraternity spiritually unite members to the Dominican Order.

Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary

The Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary is an international association of the Catholic faithful established “to praise and honor the Blessed Virgin Mary and to secure her patronage by the recitation of the Rosary for the mutual spiritual benefit of all the members throughout the world.” Members of the Confraternity promise to pray 15 decades of the Rosary each week and to pray for each other when saying the Rosary.

Individuals can enroll in the Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary. Charters of the Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary can be established at parishes. The Dominican Friars of the Province of St. Joseph host the annual Dominican Rosary Pilgrimage, which is a full-day national event promoting the Rosary and Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC on the last Saturday of September.

Angelic Warfare Confraternity

The Angelic Warfare Confraternity is a supernatural fellowship of men and women bound to one another in love and dedicated to pursuing and promoting chastity together under the powerful patronage of St. Thomas Aquinas and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Members are enrolled in order to receive assistance from God in living the virtue of chastity under the patronage of St. Thomas Aquinas and the Blessed Virgin Mary. The title of “Angelic Warfare” honors St. Thomas being girded by the angels. The pursuit of chastity is often a fierce struggle with the world, the flesh, and the devil.
