Ash Wednesday enters us into the season of Lent, a time of penance as preparation for Easter. But how does penance prepare us for joy?

Seven of our brothers recently professed Solemn Vows, fully committing the whole of their lives to God through our Dominican way of life.

Whether it is a candlelit meal at a fancy restaurant, a birthday celebration with a candle-topped cake, or the procession of the paschal candle at the Easter Vigil, candles are a clear sign of solemnity.

Fr. Gregory Pine, O.P., would like to invite you to the Dominican Rosary Pilgrimage, an annual national pilgrimage celebrating the Rosary!

If they haven’t been packed away already, we can complete our nativity scenes this week with our celebration of the Epiphany. Finally, the enigmatic magi can fittingly join the decorative assemblage. But what is the significance of their arrival?

Christmas blessings to you and your family! In this octave of Christmas, I pray that you rediscover our Savior, Jesus Christ, who took on our humanity so that he could save us.

Our Lady of Expectation brings this Advent to a close with the gentle invitation to come closer to her, to draw closer to her Son.

This year the Dominican Friars of the Province of St. Joseph celebrated the Month of the Rosary by hosting the first national Dominican Rosary Pilgrimage on September 30, 2023 at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC.

The Dominican Friars not only pray the Rosary, they preach the Rosary!

A Dominican friar is a man who is always open to being shaped by God into a holy priest in imitation of St. Dominic, so the beginning of our life has to be one of learning how to be molded and to learn all about the Order and our founder.

Despite all of the chaos, violence, and uncertainty in the world, the light of faith allows us to see reasons for hope and occasions for gratitude.

“My first contact with the Dominicans Friars was, believe it or not, through Facebook. I watched their informative videos and was truly impressed by their dedicated work.”
