Donor Advised Funds

Make a Difference With a Gift From Your Donor Advised Fund

Gifts From Donor Advised Funds Are Easy!

Donor Advised Funds are becoming an increasingly popular vehicle for charitable giving, and it’s easy to see why. There is no cost to making a grant. And with tax benefits and the ability to give regularly to the Dominican Friars over time, a Donor Advised Fund might be right for you.

A Donor Advised Fund is an account that you set up, which is like a charitable savings account, but which is managed by a nonprofit organization. You contribute to the account and it grows tax-free. You can recommend, but not direct, how much (and how often) you want to distribute money from that fund to the Dominican Friars Foundation or other charities over time. In return, you qualify for a federal income tax charitable deduction at the time you contribute to the account.

Here’s how it works:

  • Place 2-3 years of giving into your Donor Advised Fund to help you meet the threshold for itemizing on your taxes this year.
  • Receive the tax deduction this year and then give to the Dominican Friars Foundation and your favorite charities over the next 2-3 years.
  • Take the standard deduction in the following tax years.

What Impact Can a Gift From Your Donor Advised Funds Have?

Your Donor Advised Fund provides an easy, flexible, low-cost method of giving which is a concrete participation in our shared mission to renew the culture through the faithful preaching of the Gospel to current and future generations. These gifts have been an essential part of the lasting change you help us to make in the lives of all those who will be brought into an encounter with the Living God and his saving Truth.

Create Your Legacy of Charitable Giving

Designate Remaining Funds After Your Lifetime

Name the Friars as beneficiaries to ensure that our shared mission of restoring Gospel values continues for generations to come. You simply name the Dominican Friars Foundation as a beneficiary or successor of your account, or a portion of it, to continue your support. You can designate that the Friars receive just a portion of the account value, leaving the remaining portion for your heirs. You can designate the final distribution of contributions remaining in your DAF after your lifetime when you create or update your fund.

If you choose to do so, please use the following legal name and tax identification to identify the Dominican Foundation:

The Dominican Foundation Tax ID: 26-3273636

The Dominican Foundation Legal Name: Dominican Foundation of Dominican Friars, Province of St. Joseph, Inc. (A New York Corporation)
