Clinging to Christ Through the Rosary

“The Rosary is a fortress against evil. It is a sign to Satan that you belong to Our Lady. No one who perseveres in devotion
to the Holy Rosary will be condemned.”
—Saint Dominic

Fr. Antoninus Samy, O.P., preaches about the Rosary.

At times you may feel that the problems you face are insurmountable. So many of us struggle with worry and discouragement when we encounter trials in our lives. In times like these, it feels like we need a miracle. We instinctively ask, “who can I turn to for help?”

Fr. Reginald Hoefer, O.P., and all the Dominican Friars remember you and your loved ones when we pray the Rosary and in our daily Mass intentions.

When a heretical group known as the Albigensians swept through southern France in the late 12th and early 13th centuries, Saint Dominic de Guzman traveled through that country boldly preaching the truth of the Gospel against their false teaching that the physical, tangible world was inherently corrupt and evil. His initial efforts won few conversions and even fewer followers. Distressed at his lack of success, he took to the forest where he prayed to Our Lady for help. After three days of prayer and fasting he received an answer in the form of the Marian Psalter, which eventually developed into the Rosary that we know and recite today. This spiritual weapon strengthened Saint Dominic to persevere through all of the challenges he faced in his preaching mission.

Like Saint Dominic, when you pray to Our Blessed Mother, you can experience strength amidst strife. You and I are living in very difficult times, with the problems, temptations, and widespread confusion in our world spreading anxiety and distress. We truly need the intercession of Our Heavenly Mother now more than ever as we face challenges in our country and in our own lives.

I would like to ask you to join us in praying the Rosary and to support the Dominican Friars of the

Praying the Rosary every day is important and vital in the lives of all the Dominican Friars.

Province of Saint Joseph in our nation-wide preaching mission. Your most generous offering, will enable us to continue our Dominican mission of preaching God’s saving grace and the powerful intercession of Our Blessed Mother, particularly through the Rosary.

Your generosity gives inspiration and strength to our increasing numbers of young Friars preparing for the priesthood and religious life. It allows us to care for our older Friars who have devoted their entire lives to the service of others, and provides the means for us to continue to preach the saving truth of Jesus Christ in universities, parishes, and in the public square. We thank God that by his grace and your generosity we are reaching millions of people through our ministry and media!

God bless you for your prayers, your commitment to the Dominican Friars and your support for the holy and life-changing ministries of the Province of Saint Joseph. We are deeply grateful for your faithful goodness and partnership in our mission of preaching for the salvation of souls. Know that you have a special place in our prayers.

Sincerely in Christ,
