McDaniel College

Fr. Cornelius Avaritt was born and raised in Loganville, GA and is the older of two children.  He received his bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from McDaniel College in Maryland. After graduating he spent time teaching in New York City and working in biomedical research at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD where he met the Dominicans at SS. Philip and James Parish.  “When I met the Dominicans I witnessed a true zeal to preach the gospel combined with an authentic example of religious life. This inspired me to be open to God’s call to be His priest, with the desire to conform my life with His for the salvation of souls.”
