Fr. Juan Macias Marquez grew up in Midland, Texas where his family attended San Miguel Arcangel Catholic Church. He pursued collegiate studies at the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. His junior year he met the Dominican Friars through the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) while on retreats and mission trips. “The joy I found when I first met the student brothers was palpable and contagious. I encountered men who knew deeply their identity as sons of God and of St. Dominic seeking truth together as brothers. I knew that I had to share the Gospel in this way.”
