ALMA MATER

Massachusetts Maritime Academy

Br. Clement Greenspan is from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Baptized in the Presbyterian confession, he was received into the Church on the feast of St. Thomas Aquinas in 2014 in his high school gym. He went on to study marine transportation at Massachusetts Maritime Academy receiving a U.S.C.G. license as a Third Mate upon Vessels of Unlimited Tonnage upon Oceans. In his fourth year at the academy, he first encountered the Dominican Friars of the Province of St. Joseph at the suggestion of a friend. Graduating in 2018, he continued to work in the marine industry until his acceptance in the Order three years later. “Christ took on flesh and died for me, for each of us, because He loves us. Experiencing this love, this infinite generosity, I could not help but respond with giving myself to Christ through the Order of Preachers, because it is this love that has impelled the Order to study, to contemplate, and to share the fruits of that contemplation for the salvation of souls.”
