Vanderbilt University

Fr. Pachomius Walker grew up near Nashville, TN with five brothers.  He attended Vanderbilt University during which time he was received into full communion with the Catholic Church through the campus ministry and was confirmed at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Nashville.  After a brief time working, he attended seminary for three years.  During this time, he met the Order and was introduced to the writings of St. Thomas Aquinas.  Through this experience, he discerned an invitation to be a Dominican.  “My desire to be a Dominican is ultimately founded upon my desire to be holy and truly happy.  I am convinced that true happiness lies in being a son of God and, in a particular way for me, a son of St. Dominic.”
