Fr.  Vincent  Ferrer  Bagan  grew  up  in  Waseca,  a  small  town  in  southern  Minnesota, with his parents, the late Thomas and Claudette Bagan, and his sister, Tierney. He attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, where he received a Bachelor of Music degree in music education,  and  Ave  Maria  University,  in  Ave  Maria,  Florida,  where  he  received  a  Bachelor of Arts  degree in  philosophy. He worked as a music teacher and church music  director  before entering the Order. Regarding his life as a Dominican friar, he says, “I am ever grateful to God for giving me the grace to live, as a son of St. Dominic, a form of life focused on contemplating God  and  sharing that  contemplation  with  others  for the  salvation  of  souls.  It is  a  form  of life that can be as useful in our own time as it was in St. Dominic’s time, and I pray that the Lord will allow our life to flourish for the building up of his Church.”
