ALMA MATER

Thomas Aquinas College

Br. John Marie Metilly is from Paxton, MA, and is the fourth of nine children. He studied liberal arts at Thomas Aquinas College in Northfield, MA. He graduated from college in 2023, and joined the Order of Preachers the following summer. “I was attracted to the order by reading about the life of St. Dominic who spoke “to God or about God.” As a Dominican Friar, I speak to God in contemplation, and I speak about Him to others in action. Contemplation and action, speaking to God or about God—that’s what the Dominicans are all about.”
