Br. Mannes Mary Bresnahan grew up in Barnstable, MA with his two sisters, attending Our Lady of Victory Parish. He graduated from Providence College with a dual degree in biology and theology before attending Duke University for an M.S. in biomedical science. It was as a student at Providence when he first felt the call to become a Dominican friar. “God implanted in my heart a desire to know Him and introduce Him to others. Nowhere would that desire be fulfilled like in the Order of Preachers, whose contemplative mission is ordered to preaching the gospel for the salvation of souls.”
