Br. Seth Bauer hails from a small farm on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, just south of Cape Charles. He was born at Fort Campbell, Kentucky where his father was stationed with the US Army’s 160th (SOAR) aviation regiment. Life as the son of a military officer included spending formative years in Yangsan, Korea and the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY. He is the eldest of eleven siblings, two of whom have entered religious life as Benedictine nuns. While studying political philosophy and music at Regent University, he met the Order of Preachers through the Thomistic Institute and, soon after, became the leader of his university’s TI chapter. He graduated with a BA in government in 2024 and entered the Dominicans the same year. “The sons of Saint Dominic had answers to my deepest questions. It was not long before I realized that I would never be satisfied unless, like them, I gave myself completely to God. When invited to join a lifelong mission of love, I said yes.”
