Br. Simeon Mary Jaeger grew up in Little Rock, AR, as the oldest of four boys. During high school, he moved to Franklin, TN. He studied mathematics and computer science at the University of Alabama. Inspired by the wisdom of St. Thomas and the witness of the Nashville Dominican sisters, he was drawn to the Order of Preachers, entering the novitiate after graduation. “Communal prayer was a central practice for my family, one that I continued seeking out with my friends in high school and college. When I visited the Dominicans, I saw brothers coming together each day to be formed by contemplating the Word of God, and I felt the call to join in that way of life.”
