The Solemnity of our Holy Father St. Dominic

More than 800 years after St. Dominic founded the Order of Preachers, the Dominican Friars continue the mission that burned in his heart: to preach the truth of the Gospel for the salvation of souls.

St. Dominic was a man of deep conviction, perseverance, and love. He saw a world in need of Jesus Christ and gave himself completely to proclaiming the truth, rooted in a profound love for each person created in the image and likeness of God.

For the Solemnity of St. Dominic, two of our brothers reflected on the life and mission of our Holy Father. Fr. Joseph-Anthony Kress, O.P., shares a story that reveals St. Dominic’s deep love for humanity, while Fr. Cyril Stola, O.P., reflects on St. Dominicโ€™s grit and determination.

More than eight centuries later, the mission of the Dominican Order remains the same: to preach Christ, proclaim the truth, and lead souls to God.
