On the Solemnity of the Annunciation, Fr. Cyril Stola, O.P., reflects on the moment when the mystery of our salvation quietly begins. At the heart of this mystery is Our Lady’s fiat, through which the Word became flesh, and from which the whole life of Christ unfolds from the Visitation to his Passion, Resurrection, and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. What begins in hiddenness becomes the unfolding work of our redemption.
