Campus Ministries
College students are hungry for the truth, and the Dominican charism is particularly suited to meet this need. Friars serving as university chaplains support Catholic students and welcome questioning students, guiding them in their search for wisdom, love, and happiness. Our campus ministries serve as vital faith communities that build up university students in their knowledge of their faith, help them navigate college life, equip them to evangelize, form them in Christian friendship, and prepare them to embrace their vocations.
CAMPUS MINISTRY
Holy Preaching and Sound Teaching
Young people come to college seeking to learn the truth and in the midst of a campus culture that is often characterized by confusion. The Dominican passion for the saving truth of Jesus Christ animates the life of Dominican campus ministries. Dominicans offer a clear presentation of the essential truths of life that correspond to the deepest questions of every student—who am I, what is the purpose of my life, how can I find true happiness? Every activity in our campus ministries is ordered toward drawing students to know and to love God, and equipping them to evangelize as missionary disciples.

Reverent Liturgy and Sacramental Abundance
Dominican friars live a rich liturgical life in our communities. This life overflows into the way that we celebrate the Mass and the other sacraments. Since Dominican parishes are usually served by several Dominican friars full-time and additional friars who live in the community, our parishes often serve as “confession hubs” in the cities where they are located. Additionally, our parishes provide solid baptism and marriage preparation, by which we serve families during key moments in their lives.
CAMPUS MINISTRY
Evangelical Witness
Dominican friars are instantly recognizable on campuses by our distinctive habits. Our habits communicate in a striking visual manner the brightness and clarity we strive for in our preaching of the saving truth of Jesus Christ.
As men consecrated to God and priests called to be shepherds, we aim to prepare our students for whatever vocation God has in store for them—whether marriage, the priesthood, or religious life. In the midst of a campus environment that is often fraught with confusion and anxiety, we seek to model an abundant trust in God that inspires our students to trust him with their lives and offers them a path of freedom and joy.
