We place the Eucharistic Lord on our altars in monstrances (from monstrare, meaning “to show”), and we spend time in adoration, looking at him. Thousands Flock to Venerate the Skull of St. Thomas
As Fr. Pier Giorgio’s story hinted at, the Dominican Order is in the midst of celebrating a three year jubilee of St. Thomas Aquinas. In 2023, the Order celebrated the700th anniversary of the canonization of St. Thomas; in 2024, the 750th anniversary of St. Thomas’ death; and in 2025, the 800th anniversary of his birth.

Thinking at Eastertime about Heaven
When Saint Augustine preaches on Psalm 148, a great psalm of praise, he says that Lent reflects our life here on earth, but Easter anticipates our life in heaven. What will we be doing in heaven? Praising God. That’s why the Church sings out Alleluia, praise the Lord, endlessly in the Easter season. Easter is full of praise for God.
