For Dominican hospital chaplains, the most joyful visits are to patients who call out to us from their beds as we walk through the halls in our habits. During my healthcare ministry training, one of my most memorable visits was just like this.

The responsibility of leading and providing pastoral care to the friars of our Province inspires me, as does your support in enabling us to preach the Gospel of Life in all of our ministries.

This year is a historic moment for our country. This January, we gathered on the national mall in Washington, DC to March for Life for the first time in a post-Roe America.

Ever since the first March for Life in 1974, Americans of all walks of life have risen early in the morning, in the late-January cold, to witness to the dignity of life. And since that first march, consecrated religious have risen with them. This year’s march was no different.

I thank you, our benefactors, who share in our zeal to win souls for Christ, for your support and partnership in our Dominican mission of preaching for the salvation of souls.

Fr. William Holt, O.P., shared down-to-earth wisdom with hundreds of thousands of social media users through an appearance on Humans of New York, a multimedia photojournalism project that has produced two New York Times bestselling books.

The University of Louisville’s Dominican-run Catholic Campus Ministry brought Christ to the secular campus by constructing a Blessed Sacrament Chapel in a former office of the campus Interfaith Center.

“I don’t want to build kingdoms,” Fr. Joseph-Anthony insists. “I want to build the Kingdom here.”

Caregiving was the Lord’s way of helping me grow, humbling me, and teaching me to rely on and trust Him more.

It is with great joy and excitement that I take the helm of the Dominican Friars Foundation as Executive Director.

As a boy growing up in the Nashville area, Chris Gautsch never expected to perform on the most well-known stage in the city— the Grand Ole Opry—especially after becoming a Dominican priest. But the unexpected came to fruition for him.
